Dhaka (Bangla2000)--At the Faridpur Stadium, Dhaka Division faltered in their limited-over match yesterday as they suffered a 7-wicket defeat against Rajshahi Division.


Dhaka Division showed their poor show in the longer-version matches although they won all the previous limited over matches.


Rajshahi Division, which earned full six points against Dhaka Division in the three-day match, increased their tally to 14 points with two points gained from yesterday’s match while Dhaka bagged only six points.


Anisur Rahman and Tariqul Islam had an unbeaten 58-run association to help Rajshahi Division reach the winning target of 143 runs for 3 in 29.2 overs.


Number four batsman Anisur scored team highest 45 runs off 57 balls that included five boundaries while Tariqul Islam added 35 runs off 38 deliveries with three fours.


Saiful Islam, Zakir Hossain and RH Sumon took one wicket each.


Earlier, Dhaka Division were all out for 142 runs in 47 overs after deciding to bat first.


Skipper Fahim Muntasir Sumit, batting at number seven, was the top scorer making 35 off 43 balls with six hits across the rope while opener Harunur Rashid Liton scored 21 runs off 31 balls.


Alamgir and Tariqul grabbed three wickets each for 24 and 27 runs respectively while Aminul Islam Bhola, RI Dola and IP Ripon took one wicket each.


At Barisal, hosts Barisal Division took sweet revenge against Khulna Division with a thumping 96-run victory in the one-day match of the National Cricket League.


Despite their defeat in the match, Khulna Division, which got six points from the three-dayer, maintained their solo lead in group B with 16 points while Barisal increased their tally to 11 points.


Khulna Division were dismissed for a paltry 75 runs in 28 overs replying to Barisal’s 171 runs for all in 49.4 overs.


Pacer Al Amin played the key role in destroying the Khulna batting line up claiming four wickets for 30 runs. He received good support from SK Shuvro and AA Rahad, both of whom captured three wickets each for 12 and 19 runs respectively.


Number ten batsman Manjurul Islam made highest 18 n.o. for Khulna while opener Sajjadul Hasan scored 12 runs.


Earlier, sent in to bat first, Barisal Division scored 171 runs for all in 49.4 overs with Rashedur Rahman making team highest 47 off 58 balls.


Imran Ahmed (22), Hannan Sarker (20), Towhid Hossain (27) and Ashfaq Ali (20) were the other notable scorers.


Tushar Imran was the most successful bowler for Khulna Division grabbing four wickets for 26 runs.
