Dhaka-- (UNB) – Bangladesh Biman retained the top slot beating Chittagong Division by four wickets in a limited-over match of the Green Delta National Cricket League at the Comilla Stadium yesterday (Monday).


With the day’s two points, title contender Biman finished the fourth round with 20 points while Chittagong Division, which snatched four points from their previous three-day match against Biman, secured 18 points.


In the day’s match, defending champions Chittagong Division scored a fighting 222 runs for 9 in fixed 49 overs after deciding to bat first.


Ehsanul Haq Seezan and Azam Iqbal contributed 158 runs in the third wicket stand for Chittagong after losing two quick wickets with score at 19 runs.


One down Ehsanul Haq hammered 90 runs off 100 balls with eleven hits across the rope while Azam Iqbal added 70 runs off 103 deliveries that featured six fours and one six.


Akram Khan (10) and Golam Mortoza (14 n.o.) were the other batsmen to reach double figures.


Shairf was the most successful bowler for the national airlines’ team grabbing five wickets for 32 runs.


In reply, Bangladesh Biman reached the target with five balls to spare losing six wickets, riding on an unbeaten 58-run partnership between Sanwar Hossain and Atiar Rahman.


National batsman Habibul Bashar Sumon was the top scorer for Biman making 55 off 82 balls while Pakistani Imran Farhat added 33 runs off 54 deliveries.


Sanwar made unbeaten 39 runs playing 33 balls with three hits to the fence while his partner Atiar remained not out with 23 off 35 balls that included two fours.


Sajal captured two wickets for 48 runs while Sabbir Khan, Shahed Mehmood, Anisur Rahman and Enamul Haq Moni took one wicket apiece.


At the Sylhet Stadium, host Sylhet Division earned double success crushing Dhaka Metropolis by 62 runs in the one-day encounter.


Last year’s runners-up Sylhet Division, who snatched four points from three-dayer, increased their tally to 13 points while Dhaka Metropolis secured 14 points.


New comer Dhaka Metropolis were bundled out for only 80 runs in 31.4 overs replying to home side’s 142 for 8 in stipulated 50 overs.


National middle order batsman Al Shahriar Rokon was the top scorer for Dhaka Metropolis with 23 runs while MI Biplob (15) and captain Khaled Mahmud Sujon (13) were the other batsmen to reach double figures.


Alok Kapali, who bowled devastatingly to take five wickets in the three-day match, claimed three wickets for only two runs in his brief 1.4 overs spell.


RH Nayeem and Tapas captured two wickets each.


Earlier, sent in to bat first, Sylhet Division made a paltry 142 runs for 8 wickets in stipulated 50 overs.


NA Nahid (26), Alok Kapali (28), Nayeem (28 n.o.) and Iqbal (10 n.o.) were the notable scorers for the Sylhet Division.


Niamur Rashid Rahul captured three wickets for 15 runs while Mukul took two for 16 runs.
