Dhaka--(Bangla2000)--At the Mymensingh Stadium, an all round performance by Rashedul Haq Sumon enabled Dhaka Division to maintain their all win record in the one-day match upsetting holders Chittagong Division by 45 runs.


Sent into bat first, Dhaka Division made a moderate innings of 214 runs for nine in stipulated 50 overs.


One down Rashedul Haq Sumon contributed 67 runs off 62 balls in 101 minutes featuring eight fours and a six and later bowled devastatingly to grab five wickets conceding only 16 runs in six overs.


Later, Sumon was declared man of the match.


Number four bat Mazharul Haq scored a patient 40 runs in 75 deliveries hitting four boundaries and an over boundary, number six Sohel Hossain scored 21 in 36 balls while opener Harun-ur-Rashid made an expensive 20 off 48 balls for the winners.


Pacer Anisur Rahman, Sajal Chowdhury, Ehsanul Haq and Shabbir Khan of Chittagong claimed two wickets each.


In reply, Chittagong Division were dismissed for 169 runs in 44 overs with opener Azam Iqbal making highest 42 runs off 70 deliveries with five hits to the fence.


Former national captain Akram Khan, came to bat at number five, scored 32 runs in 51 balls with a four, teenage opener Nafiz Iqbal made 14 and veteran Enamul Haq Moni 13. Team’s second highest runs 33 came from the extras.


Fahim Muntasir Sumit captured two wickets giving away 23 runs in nine overs while Biplob Sarkar Billu and Zakir Hossain took apiece excepting Rashedul Haq’s five wickets.


At Jessore, a five-wicket haul by veteran national new ball bowler Hasibul Hossain Shanta guided last year’s runners-up Sylhet Division to beat Khulna Division by five wickets.


Khulna Division opened their innings first and were bundled out for a peltry 69 runs in 23.4 overs.


Only two Khulna batsmen – tail-ender Majurul Islam Rana (12) and opener Nahidul Haq Shawon (10)— were able to score double figure while highest 14 runs came from the extras.


Apart from Shanta’s five-wicket haul, Iqbal Hossain snatched three Khulna wickets for 27 runs in 9 overs with a maiden while Taposh Boishya took two for 24 runs in six overs with a maiden.


Later, Shanta was adjudged man of the match.


But replying to the poor total, Sylhet Division had to struggle hard to reach their target and lose five wickets for making 71 runs in 31.4 overs.


After the dismissal of five top order batsmen—-Tusher (2), Kabi (1), Pervez (0), Rajin (6) and Nahid (6)—- for 29 runs, number six batsman Alok pairing with Imon guided the team towards victory.


Alok hammered an unbeaten 27 off 62 balls hitting two boundaries while Imon remained not out with 10 runs in 39 balls.


Niaz Morshed Paltu bagged two wickets for 17 runs while Ahmed Kamal Colonel and Manjurul Islam took one wicket each.
