Dhaka-- (UNB)– Bangladesh Biman and Chittagong Division secured full points with straight victory against their respective rivals in the three-dayers of the National Cricket League at different venues across the country yesterday.


Newcomer Dhaka Metropolitan team gained four points by virtue of first innings lead against Khulna Division in another match which ended in a draw at the Dhanmondi Cricket Stadium.


Barisal Division and last year’s runners-up Sylhet Division got three points each after the match ended without any result as last two day’s play was postponed due to soggy ground at Barisal following rain.


In Mymensingh, the national airlines team Biman handed Dhaka Division a massive an innings and 130 runs defeat at the local Stadium.


Newcomer Biman took solo lead in the group A securing 12 points as they managed six points in the inaugural match against holders Chittagong Division in three-day and one-day matches.


Dhaka Division, struggling for a follow-on after dismissing in 118 runs to reply Biman’s 383, again showed devastating batting performance making 135 runs for all in the second innings to taste another straight defeat.


Resumed with overnight score of 71 runs for three, Dhaka Division were bundled out for 135 runs in 65.1 overs with number 10 batsman Biplob Sarker making 24 runs on the last day.


Pakistani Saifullah Khan Magsi, who took one wicket on the second day, was the most successful bowler for Biman finishing with 15-7-28-3.


Biman’s another Pakistani recruit Imran Farhat, who guided his team to compel their opponents to follow on capturing seven wickets, claimed two wickets for 49 runs while Sharif also took two for 27 runs.


Jahangir Alam Dulu and Ziaur Rashid captured one wicket each for 17 and 12 runs respectively.
