Dhaka-- (UNB)- Gearing up their hands-on skill building in the premier cricket, the Bangladesh team will tour Zimbabwe and New Zealand while Pakistan may come here next year to play test matches.

If the Pakistan team tours Bangladesh, in January, the Pak-Bangla test match will be held outside Dhaka, either in Rajshahi or in Chittagong, due to ground crisis.

The disclosure came from Bangladesh Cricket Board president Saber Hossain Chowdhury yesterday (Tuesday) while addressing a reception accorded by the board at the BNS to the local and foreign journalists who covered the Dutch-Bangla inaugural test of Bangladesh against India.

Managing Director of Dutch-Bangla Bank M Shawkat Ali and Country Manager of Coca-Cola Bangladesh PK Chatterjee also spoke on the occasion.

As per next year's tour schedule, the test babes will go to Zimbabwe in April while the Zimbabweans make a return tour of Bangladesh in October. Bangladesh will also tour New Zealand in December next year.

Besides, there is another possibility of playing a test match against Pakistan here next January if the Indian team does not go to Pakistan for their scheduled test engagements.

"But, we like to see the Indo-Pak match," said Saber, also a deputy minister.

"We have learnt a lot from organising the maiden test match, but did not disgrace the test-playing countries with our performance, although we are disappointed with the results," the BCB boss said.

The cricket-patron minister praised batsman Aminul Islam Bulbul, captain Naimur Rahman Durjoy and Indian all-rounder Sunil Joshi for their brilliant performance in the maiden test for the newest entrant into the elite club.

BCB will appoint a foreign coach for the national team next January and formulate criteria within a week or two for appointing the cricket instructor.

Regarding the board's selection committee, the board chief said the selection committee in future would have tour all over the country to build the best- possible side.

"The committee will have to work like full-timers as gone are the days for selecting national team sitting in capital Dhaka," he told the sports reporters.
