Dhaka (UNB) – A 14-member Indian cricket team arrives here tomorrow (Tuesday) at 1:45 pm by a Bangladesh Biman flight to play the Dutch-Bangla inaugural test match against debutante Bangladesh on Nov. 10-14 at the Bangabandu National Stadium.


Top order batsman Sourav Ganguly, known as Prince of Calcutta, will lead the team against Bangladesh after a disastrous tour in Sharjah last month that saw them score 54 runs – the ever lowest at the venue – against Sri Lanka in the tri-series final.


Former world cup champions India, which announced a youthful team for Bangladesh tour includes four test debutantes - teenage opening batsman Shivsundar Das, fast bowler Zahir Khan, top order batsman Yuvraj Singh and wicket keeper Saba Karim. The team will fly to Dhaka from Calcutta.


Indian Cricket Board made six changes in the line-up. The new team is expected to devote its full energy against Bangladesh to salvage their pride and prestige.


The Indian team will address a press conference at the Dhaka Sheraton Hotel at 5 pm tomorrow (Tuesday).


Meanwhile, the Bangladesh team, which also had a disappointing tour to South Africa last month - dismissed twice for 51 and 57 runs against South African President’s X1, will be lodged at the Dhaka Sheraton Hotel from Wednesday.


The Bangladesh dream test team, now playing a four-day warm-up match at the BKSP, will complete their engagement tomorrow (Tuesday).


BCB president Saber Hossain Chowdhury on October 31 announced a 14-member Bangladesh’s team for the historic maiden test match. But the national selectors included two more cricketers - Habibul Bashar Sumon and Enamul Haq Moni - in the line–up on the following day as per advice of the Board president.


All rounder Naimur Rahman Durjoy will write his name in Bangladesh’s cricket history as the first captain for the inaugural test. Imran Sarwar has been retained as coach of the team.


Two players from the Kenya and South Africa touring team have been dropped. They are new ball bowler Mushfiqur Rahman Babu and promising all rounder Ehsanul Haq Seezan.


However, two injury-grabbed opening batsmen Shahriar Hossain Bidyut and Mehrab Hossian Opee, right arm off spinner Fahim Muntasir Sumit and middle order batsman Rajin Saleh Alam have been included in the team.


Bangladesh team: Shahriar Hossain Bidyut, Mehrab Hossain Opee, Javed Omar Belim Gulla, Habibul Bashar Sumon, Al Shahriar Rokon, Aminul Islam Bulbul, Akram Khan, Naimur Rahman Durjoy, Khaled Mashud Pilot, Fahim Muntasir Sumit, Mohammad Rafique, Enamul Haq Moni, Hasibul Hossain Shanta, Manjurul Islam, Bikash Ranjan Das and Rajin Saleh Alam.


Indian team: Sourav Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Shivsundar Das, Sadagoppan Ramesh, VVS Laxman, Yuvraj Singh, Saba Karim, Sunil Joshi, Zahir Khan, Ajit Agarkar, Javagal Srinath, Venkatesh Prasad and Murali Kartik.


Bangladesh Television (BTV) and satellite TV network Sony Max will telecast the historic test match live from the Bangabandhu National Stadium.
