Dhaka-- (UNB) - The final round of the 22nd National Women’s
Chess Championship begins today (Thursday) at the Bangladesh
Chess Federation auditorium with 10 top seeded players of the country participating.
The number draw ceremony of the prestigious national meet was held at the Chess Federation office yesterday (Wednesday). Federation general secretary Syed Shujauddin Ahmed conducted the number draw of the participants.
Players’ numbers: 1. Sharmin Sultana Shirin (Narayanganj), 2. Saima Almas, 3. defending champion Nazrana Khan Eva (Manikganj), 4. Farzana Khan Ava (Manikganj), 5. IWM Rani Hamid (Biman), 6. Masuda Begum (Barisal), 7. Syeda Afsana Parveen Nira, 8. Afroza Khanam Babli (Ansar), 9. Tanima Parveen, and 10. Zakia Sultana (Narayangang).
Opening day’s (Thursday) matches: Shirin vs Zakia, Saima vs Tanima
Eva vs Babli, Ava vs Nira and Rani vs Masuda.
