Dhaka-- (UNB) , Seventeen players finished top at the points-table after the second round of the 22nd National Junior Chess Championship at Chess Federation Auditorium yesterday (Monday). 

They are: Syed Ejaz Hussain, Mohammad Javed, Farhadur Imam, Ruhul Islam Boby, Mehedi Hasan Parag, Minhajuddin Ahmed Sagar, Nayeem Arefin Ratul, Moksedul Monir, Mahtabuddin Ahmed Robin, Dewan Riyad, Obaidul Islam Shaheen, Alam Miah, Shibli Noman, Ziauddin Ahmed, Zainal Abedin, Shahidul Islam and Mofazzal Hossain Hirok. 

In the day’s round: Ejaz beat Ehtesham, Javed beat Rashed, Farhad beat Yousuf, Boby beat Sindhu, Parag beat Ibrahim, Sagar beat Imran, Ratul beat Monir, Monir defeated Ashfaq, Robin beat Biru, Riad beat Saber, Shaheen beat Nasim, Alam beat Sadi, Shibli beat Ali, Zia beat Sarwar, Shahidul beat Arefin and Hirok beat Shamsuddoha.

Meanwhile, the selection phase of the 22nd National Junior Chess Tournament began yesterday (Sunday) at the same venue.

A total of 40 women and girls are taking part in the tournament. 

Eighteen players collected full points from their 1st round game.
