Dhaka-- (UNB) - Syed Ruhul Kabir Shiplu of Titas Club took a solo lead in the third Prime Bank International Rating Chess tournament securing 5.5 points after the sixth round matches yesterday (Tuesday).

He beat national women champions Nazrana Khan Eva of Dhaka University at the chess federation sports room yesterday (Tuesday).

Shawkat Hossain Pallab of Bangladesh Ansar followed the leader neck and neck with five points after beating Taiyubur Rahman Sumon in the day’s round.

Four players -– Khandakar Aminul Islam, Sheikh Nasir Ahmed, Nazrana Khan Eva and Kajal Mahmud -– were in the second position jointly obtaining 4.5 points each.

In the day’s other matches of the sixth round, Parag defeated Saifuddin Lavlu, Kajal beat Enayet Hossain, Nasir overpowered Hasan Imam, Uten beat Moniruzzaman Khan, Amin outplayed Shafique Ahmed, Amir Kazi beat Taherul Islam, Arman won against Shafiqul Islam and Nur-e-Alam won over Sohel Chowdhury while Imon drew with Ahmedul Haq.
