Dhaka-- (UNB) – Taiyubur Rahman Sumon of Leonine Chess Club took solo lead in the Third Prime Bank International Rating Chess tournament securing full four points after the fourth round match at the Chess Federation sports room yesterday (Sunday).


Three players - Syed Ruhul Kabir Shiploo of Titas Club, Sheikh Nasir Ahmed of Bangladesh Ansar and Nazrana Khan Eva of Dhaka Uniservsity — followed the leader collecting 3.5 points after the fourth round.


Four players - Saifuddin Lavlu of Titas Club, Shawkat Hossain Pallab of Ansar, Kajal Mahmud of Anushilon and Moniruzzaman Khan of Narayanganj - are in joint third position with three points each.


In the day’s fourth round matches, Eva beat Hasan Iman, Lavlu beat Farhadur Imam, Ahmedul beat Nur-e-Alam, Pallab beat Shafiqul Islam and Monir beat Parag while Shiploo drew with Nasir Ahmed and Amir Hossain drew with Monir Hossain.


The fifth round matches will start at 2:30 pm today (Monday).
