Dhaka--(UNB) – The Third Prime Bank International Rating Chess tournament, organised by Leonine Chess Club, began here yesterday (Thursday) at the Chess Federation sports room.

Managing Director of tournament-sponsor Prime Bank Limited Kazi Abdul Majid inaugurated the tourney while former President of Bangladesh Chess Federation Nasimuddin Ahmed was the chief guest at the function.

A total 46 players, including national women champions and 24 rated players, are taking part in the nine-round Swiss league basis competition.

The organiser has offered a prize money of Tk 28,000 for the winners, said a press release yesterday (Thursday).
