Chess League's second round matches begin today |

Dhaka-- (UNB) - Defending champions Bangladesh Biman made a good start in the Metropolis First Division Chess League beating Farashganj SC by straight 4-0 points in the first round match today. In the other first round matches, Titas Club beat Sonali Bank, Bangladesh Ansar defeated Kamlapur SKP, Prodeep Sangha outplayed Uttara DS, Narayanganj DKS beat Anu Memorial Club by 3.5-0.5 points each. Nakhalpara JKS beat Rajshahi DUS by 3-1, Dhaka University defeated Uttara Central CC and Leonine Chess Club beat Anushilan CC by 2.5-1.5 equal points in the other day's fixture. Country's lone grand master Niaz Morshed of Leonine CC drew his first round match Majumder of Anushilan CC. The second round matches will begin at 2.30pm today (Tuesday). |
