Dhaka (UNB) - Bangladesh women’s team beat Turkey B by 3-0 points in the 6th round game of the 34th World Chess Olympiad in Istanbul on Thursday.

 

International Woman Master Rani Hamid beat E Sanli, Zakia Sultana beat I Goler and Nazrana Khan Eva beat N Aydin.

 

After the 6th round, Bangladesh women’s team collected 8.5 points. Georgia and China jointly lead the table with 13.5 points each.

 

Georgia drew with China by 1.5-1.5 points in the 6th round match.

 

In the men’s section, Bangladesh lost to Azerbaijan by 1.5-2.5 points in the 6th round.


International Master Ziaur Rahman won against Zulfugarli, FIDE Master Enamul Hossain Razib drew with J Haherrmzade while Saifuddin Lablu lost to Mrzoev and Syed Ruhul Kabir Shiplu lost to Mamedyarov.

Bangladesh men’s team earned 12 points after the 6th round.

 

Germany lead the table in men’s section with 18.5 points, followed by Russia in second position with 17.5 points and Slovakia in the third position with 17 points.

 

In the 6th round, Germany drew with Russia, Slovakia drew with Ukraine, India drew with Croatia and China drew with Switzerland, all by 2-2 points.

 

After Friday as the rest day, the 7th round matches will be held tomorrow (Saturday) from 3:00 pm local time (Bangladesh time 7:00 pm).
