Dhaka (UNB) - Enterprises in Bangladesh and Singapore would get assistance in business networking for bilateral investment schemes or joint ventures in third countries, according to an agreement signed last week.

The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) and the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCCI) signed the cooperation agreement in Singapore on August 30 during the visit of an FBCCI business delegation there.

FBCCI president Abdul Awal Mintoo and SCCCI president Tay Beng Chuan signed the agreement for the respective sides.

Industry Minister Tofail Ahmed, Bangladesh High Commissioner in Singapore Ashfaqur Rahman and Singapore High Commissioner to Bangladesh were present.

In accordance with the agreement, the two trade bodies will cooperate with each other and do their best for the promotion of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.

The chambers will regularly exchange information and views on trade and economic opportunities in both countries and disseminate the information to their respective business communities, the agreement said.

They will also assist each other in organizing or promoting international trade and investment fairs, business conferences and other similar events for the purposes of enhancing trade and economic cooperation.
