Dhaka (UNB) - The main index at Dhaka Stock Exchange ended lower yesterday as the losers strongly dominated the gainers.

All Share Price Index at the country's main bourse lost 4.45 points or 0.67 percent to close at 659.37 points from Sunday's 663.82 points.

Of the 164 listed securities traded yesterday, 51 gained, 102 declined and 11 remained unchanged.

Some 6,759,693 shares and debentures worth Tk 35.02 crore were transacted as against 6,709,006 shares valued at Tk 34.63 crore on the previous trading day.

Aims First Mutual Fund (1,447,500), Beximco Pharma (1,021,800), Shine Pukur (596,000) and Quashem Drycell (379,400) were among the volume leaders.

Market capitalisation stood at Tk 62.58 billion from Tk 63.0 billion on Sunday.
