Chittagong (UNB) - The main index at the Chittagong Stock Exchange marked a fall yesterday (Sunday) with the losers heavily dominating the gainers.


The All Share Price Index at the country's second bourse shed 12.09 points or 0.85 percent to close at 1407.75 points from Saturday's 1419.84 points.


Of the 73 listed securities traded yesterday, 15 gained, 50 declined and eight remained unchanged.


Some 2,502,875 shares and debentures valued at Tk 5.79 crore changed hands yesterday as against 1,218,995 shares worth Tk 4.55 crore on the previous trading day.


Quasem Dry Cell (1,958,100), Fu-Wang Foods (120,000), Rangpur Foundry (74,000) and AIMS First Guaranteed (65,000) were among the volume leaders.


Market capitalisation stood at Tk53.25 billion from Saturday's Tk 53.67 billion.
