Chittagong (UNB) – The price index at the Chittagong Stock Exchange finished higher yesterday (Monday) as the gainers outnumbered the losers.

All Share Price Index at the country’s second bourse gained 8.66 points or 0.73 percent to close at 1195.41 points from Sunday’s 1186.75 points.

Of the 71 listed securities traded yesterday, 36 gained, 24 declined and 11 remained unchanged.

Some 1,135,660 shares and debentures worth Tk 5.24 crore were transacted as against 846,860 shares valued at Tk 3.32 crore on the previous trading day.

AIMS First Guaranteed (317,500), Beximco Pharmaceuticals (137,950), Sino Bangla (118,500) and Quasem Dry-cells (110,900) were among the volume leaders.

Market capitalisation stood at Tk 45.57 billion as against Tk 45.28 billion on Sunday.
