Chittagong (UNB) – The price index at the Chittagong Stock Exchange closed higher yesterday (Sunday) as the gainers outnumbered the losers.

All Share Price Index at the country’s second bourse rose by 12.86 points or 1.09 percent to close at 1186.75 points from Thursday’s 1173.89 points.

Of the 60 listed securities traded yesterday, 42 gained, 13 declined and five remained unchanged.

Some 846,860 shares and debentures worth Tk 3.32 crore were transacted as against 2,685,541 shares valued at Tk 4.20 crore on the previous trading day.

Quasem Dry-cells (185,350), Beximco Pharmaceuticals (150,700), Legacy Footwear (92,500) and AIMS First Guaranteed (67,500) were among the volume leaders.

Market capitalisation stood at Tk 45.28 billion as against Tk 44.83 billion on Thursday.
