Dhaka (UNB) - Trading at Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) finished higher yesterday (Wednesday) as the gainers strongly dominated the losers.

The benchmark of the country's main bourse gained 2.49 points or 0.6 percent to close at 619.56 points from Tuesday's 616.09 points.

Of the 148 listed securities traded yesterday, 90 gained, 41 declined and 17 remained unchanged.

Some 8,636,227 shares and debentures valued at Tk 27.17 crore were transacted as against 9,137,471 shares worth Tk 27.40 crore on the previous trading day.

AIMS First Guaranteed (2,470,000), Chic Tex (1,107,000), Quasem Drycells (984,100), Beximco Pharma (969,150) and Fuwang Food (806,500) were among the volume leaders.

Market capitalisation stood at Tk 58.80 billion as against Tk 58.47 billion on Tuesday.
