Chittagong (UNB) – Despite lower trading, the main index at Chittagong Stock Exchange closed slightly higher yesterday (Tuesday). All Share Price Index at the country’s second bourse gained 2.37 points or 0.15 percent to close at 1493.13 points from Monday’s 1490.76 points. Of the 70 listed securities traded yesterday, 44 gained and 26 declined. Some 7,755,285 shares and debentures worth Tk 16.89 crore changed hands as against 12,833,170 shares valued at Tk 29.66 crore on the previous day. Aims First Guaranteed (3,385,000), Chic Textile (1,473,000), Beximco Pharma (1,018,800), Quasem Drycells (707,350), Shine Pukur (240,650), Fu-wang Foods (190,000) and Ashraf Textile (187,700) were among the volume leaders. Market capitalisation stood at Tk 56.07 billion from Tk 55.98 billion on Monday. |
