Dhaka, Jan 12 (UNB) – A five-day flower exhibition began at the Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF) ground at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in the city today (Friday).


Commerce Minister M Abdul Jalil inaugurated the annual exhibition that put various types of flowers as well as herbs on display at a total of 45 stalls.


The minister said the government has actively considering to provide 25 percent cash incentive in the airfare of perishable export items including flowers.


The government wants to increase domestic production and reap benefits from the non-traditional export items side by side with traditional ones, he added.


Commerce Secretary Golam Rahman, Vice Chairman of Export Promotion Bureau AB Chowdhury and president of Bangladesh Flower Cultivators and Exports Association MA Samad were present.
