Dhaka--(UNB)- World Bank Dhaka office invited application for funds from its small grants programme (SGP) aimed at supporting human rights and poverty-related issues. Small grants are to be used for promoting dialogue and dissemination of information on international development. It may also be used for enhancing partnerships with key players in the development area, such as NGOs, civil-society organisations, multilateral development banks, UN agencies, foundations, bilateral donors, professional associations, research institutions and private sector corporations. Any NGO or organisation of civil society involved in development activities can apply for a grant under SGP FY-2001 at the Bank’s Dhaka office till January 31, 2001. However, the NGOs, which received funds in FY00 are not eligible for this year’s programme, a World Bank announcement said here. The WB made it clear that the SGP does not support research programmes, formal academic training programmes, operational projects, ongoing institutional core support, scholarships, fellowships, study programmes or individual travels or studies. |
