Chittagong--(UNB) – The main index at Chittagong Stock Exchange marked a rise yesterday (Wednesday) as the gainers outnumbered the losers.

The CSE All Share Price Index rose by 5.70 points or 0.40 percent to close at 1403.34 points from 1397.64 points on Tuesday.

Of the 57 listed securities traded yesterday, 25 gained, 21 declined and 11 remained unchanged.

Some 567,905 shares and debentures worth Tk 3.84 crore changed hands yesterday as against 402,042 shares valued at Tk 1.8 crore on the previous trading day.

Chic Tex Limited (123,000), Beximco Pharmaceuticals (102,250), Quasem Drycells Limited (70,850) and Southeast Bank (52,200) were among the volume leaders.

Market capitalisation stood at Tk 57.45 billion from Tk 57.24 billion on Tuesday.
