Chittagong--(UNB) – The main index at Chittagong Stock Exchange marked a significant rise yesterday (Tuesday) as the gainers heavily outnumbered the losers.

The CSE All Share Price Index rose by 13.45 points or 0.92 percent to close at 1397.64 points from 1384.19 points on Monday.

Of the 56 listed securities traded yesterday, 50 gained, three declined and three remained unchanged.

Some 402,042 shares and debentures worth Tk 1.8 crore changed hands yesterday as against 195,957 shares valued at Tk 1.33 crore on the previous trading day.

Sino Bangla (90,000), Quasem Drycells Limited (67,450), AIMS First Guaranteed (37,500), Chic Text (34,000) and Beximco Pharmaceuticals (27,850) were among the volume leaders.

Market capitalisation stood at Tk 57.24 billion from Tk 56.75 billion on Monday.
