Chittagong-- (UNB) – Trading at Chittagong Stock Exchange closed higher yesterday, posting a gain of 1.63 points in its benchmark.

The CSE All Share Price Index gained 1.63 points or 0.11 percent to close at 1384.19 points from Sunday’s 1382.56 points.

Of the 52 listed securities traded yesterday, 24 gained, 22 declined and six remained unchanged.

Some 145,703 shares and debentures valued at Tk 1.44 crore were transacted as against 195,957 shares worth Tk 1.33 crore on the previous trading day.

Excelsior Shoes (21,500), Niloy Cement Industries (21,300), Paragon Leather (15,600) and Quasem Drycells Limited (13,850) were among the volume leaders.

Market capitalisation stood at Tk 56.75 billion from Tk 56.69 billion Sunday.
