France eager to assist for success in export trade |

Dhaka-- (UNB) – Newly appointed French Ambassador Michel Lummaux yesterday said his country is eager to assist Bangladesh in maintaining the success in its export trade. “In recent times, Bangladesh achieved remarkable success in the export trade with EU countries,” he told Commerce Minister M Abdul Jalil while meeting with him at the ministry. The Ambassador also appreciated Bangladesh’s success in attracting foreign investment and mentioned some of the French investment projects being carried out here by Lafarge and other companies. The Minister apprised the envoy of Bangladesh’s keen interest in further increasing investment and boosting the bilateral economic ties with France, a vital development partner of the country. Jalil referred to the incentive package being provided to foreign investors in Bangladesh and called upon the French entrepreneurs to invest in the country taking the advantage. Commerce Secretary Golam Rahman was present during the meeting, said an official handout. |
