Dhaka-- (UNB)- Textile associations will jointly prepare an action plan specifying long and short-term strategies to face the market challenge under quota-free regime beyond 2004.


The action plan, identifying priority areas and prescribing measures, will be placed to the government just after eid, five textile sector associations agreed in a meeting with BGMEA president Anisur Rahman Sinha in the chair yesterday.


Bangladesh Textile Mills Association (BTMA) chairman Salman F Rahman, Bangladesh Specialised Textile Mills and Power looms Industries Association (BSTMPIA) president Shahjada Mia, Bangladesh Terry Towel and Lilen Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BTTLMEA) president M Anisuzzaman and Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA) acting president Selim Osman attended the meeting.
