Dhaka-- (UNB)- Bangladesh will receive an additional grant of Tk 2.50 from Sweden for its Rural Employment Sector Programme-3 in greater Faridpur region.

An agreement between the two governments to this effect was signed at Economic Relations Division (ERD) yesterday.

The amount is in addition to Sweden’s earlier contribution of Tk 239 crore for the programme, said a PID handout.

The objectives of the programme are to improve the socioeconomic condition of the rural poor of the greater Faridpur district through establishing improved rural infrastructure and raising their incomes.

ERD Secretary Masihur Rahman and Swedish Ambassador in Dhaka Anders Johnson signed the Agreement on behalf of their respective sides.
