Chittagong-- (UNB) - Price Index at Chittagong Stock Exchange continued to show a downtrend (Monday) due to lackluster trading.

The CSE All Share Price Index shed 2.57 points or 0.18 percent to close at 1404.88 points from 1407.45 points on Sunday.

Of the 57 listed securities traded today, 19 gained, 30 declined and eight remained unchanged.

Some 1,266,685 shares and debentures valued at Tk 2.61 crore changed hands as against 560,575 shares worth Tk 3.29 crore on the previous trading day.

Chictex Limited (925,500), AIMS First Mutual Fund (137,500), Beximco Pharma (40,700) and Paragon Leather (28,000) were among the volume leaders.

Market capitalisation stood at Tk 53.22 billion from Tk 53.59 billion on Sunday.
