Chittagong-- (UNB) - After losing 10.02 points from its benchmark on Monday, Chittagong Stock Exchange pocketed 2.33 points yesterday (Tuesday) despite the losers outnumbered the gainers.

The CSE All Share Price Index gained 2.33 points or 0.16 percent to close at 1431.46 points from Monday's 1429.13 points.

Of the 61 listed securities traded yesterday, 23 gained, 30 declined and eight remained unchanged.

Some 540,355 shares and debentures valued at Tk 5.17 crore changed hands as against 775,450 shares worth Tk 4.92 crore on the previous trading day.

Paragon Leather (82,700), Niloy Cement (58,850), Sino Bangla Industries (57,000), Prime Textile Spinning (40,700) and National Bank (45,100) were among the volume leaders.

Market capitalisation stood at Tk 54.14 billion from Tk 54.06 on Monday.
