Electricity and gas failure enrages business leaders |

Narayanganj (UNB) – Leaders of different trade bodies today threatened to stop production in all mills and factories here if the disconnected electricity and gas lines of some mills are not restored within three days. The decision was taken at a meeting of the leaders of 30 trade bodies held at the conference room of BKMEA with Narayanganj Chamber president AKM Selim Osman in the chair. The leaders said that the businessmen are incurring huge losses due to short supply of gas and power. Khalekuzzaman, DGM of Narayanganj Titas Gas, assured the meeting that he would inform the problem of gas supply to the higher authority for rapid solution. He said gas bills amounting to Tk 80 crore have been lying unpaid in the district. BKMEA president Monjurul Huq, Vice-president Fazlul Huq and Vice-president of Narayanganj Chamber Mohammad Aiyub also spoke in the meeting. |
