Chittagong (UNB) – The main index at Chittagong Stock Exchange marked a rise today with the gainers outnumbering the gainers.

The CSE All Share Price Index rose by 16.77 points or 1.17 percent to close at 1439.32 points from Sunday’s 1422.55 points.

Of the 69 listed securities traded today, 57 gained, nine declined and three remained unchanged.

Some 1,414,484 shares and debentures valued at Tk 9.08 crore changed hands as against 761,970 shares worth Tk 5.96 crore on the previous day.

Paragon Leather (291,050), Fu Wang Foods (89,500),Beximco Pharma (78,050), Niloy Cement (77,050), Quasem Drycells (76,700) and Chic Tex (52,500) were among the volume leaders.

Market capitalisation stood at Tk 54.43 billion from Sunday’s Tk 53.84 billion.
