Chittagong-- (UNB) – Despite downward turnover of both volume and values, the main index at Chittagong Stock Exchange closed higher yesterday (Saturday).

The CSE All Share Price Index gained 4.96 points or 0.35 percent to close at 1422.68 points from Thursday’s 1417.72 points.

Of the listed 58 securities traded yesterday, 27 gained, 24 declined and seven remained unchanged.

Some 409,475 shares and debenture valued at Tk 2.86 were transacted as against 769,715 shares worth Tk 5.09 crore on the previous trading day.

All Industries (124,600), Sino Bangla (87,000) and Beximco Pharma (52,900) were among the day’s volume leaders.

Market capitalisation stood at Tk 53.76 billion from Thursday’s Tk 53.59 billion.
