Dhaka-- (UNB)- Bangladesh will receive 4,766.48 million yen equivalent to Tk 234 crore as Debt Relief Grant Assistance from Japan under an Exchange of Notes signed here yesterday between the two countries.

The grant will be utilized in meeting the balance of payments and importing commodities, particularly basic raw materials for industries including chemicals, lubricants, machinery, spare parts etc. both in private and public sectors, said a press release.

Secretary of Economic Relations Division Dr Masihur Rahman and Japanese Ambassador to Bangladesh Kazuyoshi Urabe signed the Note of Exchange on behalf of their governments.
