Sylhet, Mar 2 (Bangla2000)--A ten-bedroom bungalow owned by Mr. M.Reza Chaudhuri, DGM (Retd) Sonali Bank was burnt to ashes. It was reported that the fire was caused by electricity voltage fluctuation. 

 

Local residents complained, the damage of their household and electric appliances at the same time. Eighty two year old Mr. Reza Chaudhuri and his workers of the house were unhurt. The bungalow was situated at the top of a hill in Kazitula in Sylhet town. Built in 1902, the bungalow was an architecture of famous "English mock Tudor" style.

Besides electrical appliances & valuable household goods, Mr. Reza Chaudhuri lost his furniture, China, ivory, shotguns etc. which were collected by his forefathers six generations back. Most of them came from his ancestral home of "Deorile Zamindar Bari" known for taste of artistic & finer things.

Mr. Reza Chaudhuri is emotionally devastated by the loss of his family heritage.
