Deplorable condition of roads |

May 18, 2000 Netrakona, May 17 (UNB) – Several roads in Mohonganj municipality area here are lying in deplorable condition hampering the smooth running of vehicles.
The total 27-km roads have become almost unfit for vehicular movement owing to development of cracks and potholes at several points. The roads have been left unrepaired for the last five years for want of necessary fund. Some of the roads turned narrow and risky as a section of vendors occupied the both sides.
Besides, a number of roads go under water during the rainy season in the absence of adequate drainage system. The worst affected roads are Station road, College road and Thana road. The dwellers of the municipality have urged the authority concerned to take immediate schemes to renovate these roads. |
