Madaripur, Aug 9 (UNB)- An intensive scheme has been taken up to bring 35,185 hectares of land under broadcast Aman cultivation in four upazilas of the district.

 

According to Agriculture Extension Department, of the total land, 7,392 hectares will be cultivated in Sadar, 8,150 hectares in Kalkini, 11,411 hectares in Rajoir and 8,232 hectares in Shibganj upazila.

 

Bangladesh Agriculture Development Corporation has provided necessary seeds, pesticides and other necessary inputs among the farmers at fair prices to make the programme a success.

 

Meanwhile, several demonstration plots have been set up to acquaint the farmers with the modern methods of cultivation.
