Jhenidah, Apr 17 (UNB) – A clash between two rival groups of people over the arrangement of a Puja program on the occasion of Pahela Baishakh at Bashudebpur in Kaliganj thana left 10 people injured on Saturday.

 

Villagers said the clash took place as Nagendranath Kumar Biswas aided by his associates attacked the program at the residence of Narayan Chandra Biswas.

 

Nagendranath, a Hindu religious leader of the area, turned violent as the Puja was arranged without his consent.

 

Being informed by locals, police rushed to the village and brought the situation under control. 

Of the injured, Tapash, 25, and Jiten, 52, were admitted to the thana health complex.
