Jhalakati, Mar 28 (UNB) – A primary schoolteacher was beaten to death over a trifling matter at West Bhaotita village in Sadar upazila on Monday.
The deceased was identified as Mobakker Ali, 55, a teacher of a local primary school.
Police said organizer of a horse race Mostafa Mridha attacked Qamrul son of the teacher for criticizing the holding of the race. When his father came to his rescue Mostafa also beat him mercilessly.
The seriously injured teacher was taken to Jhalakati Sadar Hospital where he died in the evening. A murder case was filed against six people.
