(Benapole) Oct 15 (UNB)- An inter-sectoral meeting was held at
the deputy commissioner’s conference room on Monday to make the next
National Immunization Day in the district a success.
District administration and district health and
family planning department under the banner of ‘Extended
Immunization Programme’ organized the meeting with the cooperation
of UNICEF and WHO.
Chaired by DC Nawfel Miah the meeting was also
addressed by Civil Surgeon Dr ATM Shahjahan, EPI director Dr Shamsul
Huq, WHO consultant Moureen Sinclair, UNICEF coordinator Hira Khanam,
WHO representative Dr Hasanuzzaman, acting poura chairman Matiur
Rahman, Ayub Ali and Hakim Babul.
Upazila Nirbahi Officers, officials of
government and private offices, NGO representatives, Poura officials
and local journalists attended the meeting.
The first dose of the polio vaccine of the
eighth NID will be administered on November 15 and second dose on
December 17 to the children up to five years of age.
