Habiganj, Mar 24 (UNB) – Finance Minister Shah AMS Kibria inaugurated the newly built “Kibria Municipal Auditorium” here today (Saturday).

The 600-seated air-conditioned hall was constructed at a cost of Tk three crore under the supervision of Local Government Engineering Department (LGED).

In his speech, the Finance Minister said the new auditorium would facilitate local people in holding meetings, seminars, cultural and political programmes.

He sought cooperation from all to ensure proper use and maintenance of the auditorium. 

Kibria narrated various development works undertaken by the present government particularly in Habiganj which was once an under developed and neglected district.

Later, the minister went round the auditorium, said an official handout.

Presided over by Poura Chairman Shaheed Chowdhury, the inaugural function was addressed, among others, by Enamul Haq Mostafa Shaheed MP, Sonali Bank Chairman Mohammad Ali, LGED chief engineer Shahidul Hasan, district Awami League general secretary Dr Mushfiq Hossain Chowdhury and Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Abdul Aziz.
