Feni, Apr 24 (UNB) – A shop owner was believed to have been roasted alive inside his stationery shop in a fire at Jagannathbari road in the town on Sunday.

Witnesses said the fire broke out while the victim, Murari Mohon Saha, 72, was lighting a lamp in his shop adjacent to an oil store.

But firefighters did not find any body when they put out the flame.

However, local people later recovered a burned skeleton from the shop and it’s thought to be of Murari.

The extent of loss by the fire was estimated at Tk 10 lakh.
