Dhaka, June 3 (UNB) – A businessman was shot dead and another injured in a terrible gun attack on the Topkhana Road near the National Press Club this (Saturday) evening.

 

The dead, Asaduzzaman Khan, 35, was learnt to be the owner of Metro Hotel in Fakirerpool area and a resident of Khilgaon Tilpapara.

 

His car driver Fazlul Huq said Asaduzzaman, along with his friend Sabuj, 30, was sprayed with bullets by a group of four to five youths following a brawl in Café Jheel restaurant during having supper at about 8:30pm.

 

“The victim and his friend were about to aboard their car when the miscreants fired on them,” said UNB medical reporter quoting the driver and doctors.

 

Driver Fazlul Huq rushed them to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where the doctors declared Asaduzzaman dead. Sabuj was admitted “in critical condition”.

 

DMCH sources said Asaduzzaman’s body was riddled by at least 20-25 bullets while Sabuj was wounded by 7-8 bullets.
