Dhaka, Apr 10 (UNB) – A young man was gunned down following the killing of Sujan last week, in a flat at Nurjahan road in the city’s Mohammadpur area on Sunday midnight.

Police sources said the body was identified as Mahmudul Hasan Palash (25), resident of Malibagh and son of a retired army officer.

His body, lying in a pool of blood on the stairs of second floor of D/11 Housing Estate building, had marks of 16 bullet wounds.

The victim’s family sources said that Palash returned from London about 3 months ago after two years. Police recovered the body in the morning and sent it to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

Police suspect the body was left there after killing him somewhere else as none of the flat dwellers heard any gunshot during the night.

Police and family sources said that Sujon, a former BCL leader of Dhaka College was killed by unidentified gunmen. This may  have link with killing of Palash who was an witness to Sujan killing.

A family source said that one Munna and Imon picked up palash from the Hatirpool area after which he did not return home.

Victim’s family sources said Palash was the father of a one-year old baby.

A case was filed with Mohammadpur thana in this connection. None was arrested till filing the report.
