Comilla, June 11 (UNB) – A court here sentenced two people to 10 years rigorous imprisonment for possessing unauthorised arms.

 

The convicts were identified as Abdul Khaleque, son of late Abid Ali of Barajala (Rajmahalpur) in Sadar thana, and Khasru Ahmed, son of Dr Tasedul Huq of Shashangacha in the town.

 

According to prosecution, Abdul Khaleque was arrested from his house at Barajala along with three pipe guns on July 15, 1998, while Khasru Ahmed with a pipe gun as he was suspiciously moving around Shashangacha on May 10, 1998.

 

After examining witnesses, the District and Sessions Judge found them guilty of possessing illegal arms and handed down the verdict on June 1.
