Oct 14 (UNB) - The district health department cannot spend Tk 60 lakh
earned during the last two years in the absence of necessary
permission from the ministry.
District
Civil Surgeon office sources said the amount was collected from
outdoor, X-ray and Pathology departments and from renting the
ambulances of different hospitals, health complexes and health centres
of the district.
Meanwhile,
the civil surgeon office saved over Tk 58 lakh while purchasing
medicines for different hospitals, health complexes and health centres
during the same period.
The
money was saved from over Tk 1.36 crore which was allocated by the
government to purchase medicines.
Health
office sources said as per the directives to purchase 61 items of
medicine against the allotted money, it purchased the same quantum of
medicine through inviting tenders saving Tk 58,41,500.
