Brahmanbaria, Feb 9 (UNB) – The four-party opposition alliance as part of its three-day programme today brought out mourning procession and held rally in the town to mourn Tuesday’s victims of police-BDR firing.

The procession brought out in the morning was followed by a protest rally at the TA Road monument with convenor of the Four-party Sangram Parishad and former Minister advocate Harun AL Rashid MP in the chair.

The rally was also addressed, among others, by Ukil Abdus Sattar Bhuiyan MP and Syed Emranur Reza of BNP, Abdul Wahid Khan Lavlu of Jatiya Party and Kazi Nazrul Islam Khadem of Jamaat-e-Islami.

The processionists wore black badges while black flags were hoisted atop most shops and business establishments in the town. Special doa and milad mahfils were arranged in mosques praying for salvation of the departed souls.

At least seven people were killed and over hundred injured in police-BDR firing here on Tuesday.
